Trust Fund Ordinance Updates Reimbursement Rules
Council adopted an ordinance that formalizes how the Infrastructure Trust Fund handles reimbursements and caps project extensions at one 12-month period. The changes exclude lift stations from eligibility and tighten submittal requirements.
A formal review of the fund's financial health is set for Fiscal Year 2028. The ordinance keeps fees unchanged for residents and developers while aligning spending with current growth patterns across the city.
Road Work and Water Supply Projects Advance
The city currently has 69 road projects valued at roughly $700 million in construction or planning stages under bond programs. The FY 2025 Capital Budget stands at $1,008.7 million and covers streets, drainage, water and wastewater treatment plus airport improvements.
A 13-mile conveyance pipeline tied to water supply infrastructure is scheduled for completion by December 2026. A larger $979 million desalination plant remains on track for December 2029 operations, with capacity for 50 million gallons daily once online.
